Builder across systems.

Manufacturing systems engineer building the software layer between the plant floor and the business. Thirteen years spanning machine vision commissioning, robotic cell and controls integration, enterprise systems administration, and full-stack development, delivering inspection and data systems for automotive, pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer goods manufacturers. Certified Cognex and Keyence integrator. Owns the full path from camera and PLC integration at the line through edge agents, normalized event pipelines, and the dashboards and MES connectors that make plant data usable. Equally at home standing at a machine and designing the service that consumes its output.

Core capabilities

How I plug in.

Industrial Software

Dashboards, operator tools, and support utilities built for real plant workflows instead of generic SaaS assumptions.

Vision and Automation

Inspection logic, camera systems, controls integration, and troubleshooting across manufacturing and quality environments.

Product Delivery

Requirements to shipped software: UI, APIs, deployment, validation, documentation, and field support handled end-to-end.

Workflow Automation

Quoting, CRM-style flows, AI-assisted admin work, and internal tools that reduce friction between sales, engineering, and delivery.

Data and Reporting

SQL, Postgres, and operational dashboards that turn plant-floor and product data into decisions instead of noise.

Field Deployment

On-site rollout, validation, and support across pharma, automotive, and industrial environments. Software that survives the floor.

Automation, Software, and Manufacturing EngineerYB Systems · Rocky Mount, NC

Deliver machine vision, controls, and industrial software projects for automotive, pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer goods manufacturers.

  • Designed and commissioned a dual-camera system for simultaneous top and bottom surface inspection using relay-only pass/fail and trigger logic with no PLC, cutting hardware cost and commissioning complexity against a PLC-based design.
  • Solved a retained-count problem on a dual-camera WebHMI station where pass counts had to survive real power loss, scripting a camera-local file as the count master after the native counter proved unreliable across power cycles.
  • Diagnosed and remediated a high false-negative rate on a system already in production: retuned gain and exposure, replaced the Top-Hat filter with a better-suited alternative, and collected a 7,000+ image dataset for offline analysis, isolating reference-point math as the root cause.
  • Built OCR lot-code verification for a consumer goods line, validating a date-encoded character format with month, day, and year range checks while tolerating inkjet print variation and font-size shift from inconsistent part seating.
  • Lead inspection development for a heavy-duty engine manufacturer, including a six-camera cylinder inspection handling twelve-plus part variants on a live production line.
  • Developing pharmaceutical vial particle inspection using high-speed post-spin burst capture and liquid-region histogram analysis to separate genuine particles from bubbles, smudges, and meniscus artifacts.
  • Scoping a machine control migration from legacy EtherCAT motion to Soft Servo WMX3 on IntervalZero RTX64.
  • Author the operator, wiring, and image-capture documentation these systems ship with, used by plant staff after handoff.

FounderG-Stack Integrations · Remote

Software products supporting automated inspection and manufacturing data, sold alongside automation delivery work.

  • Built VisionMetrics, a manufacturing quality analytics SaaS (Next.js, React, TypeScript, Supabase/PostgreSQL) with a token-authenticated defect ingest API, subscription-aware access control, signed image URLs, and customer and admin dashboards.
  • Built the VisionMetrics sync agent, an inspection-PC service that watches local image folders and uploads through a durable SQLite queue with heartbeat and retry, so image capture continues uninterrupted through network outages and resumes without operator intervention.
  • Architected G-Stack Manufacturing Hub, industrial middleware normalizing data from vision systems, PLCs, CSV drops, MDB imports, and SQL tables into a single manufacturing event model with an MES outbound queue, REST APIs, and webhook delivery.
  • Built supporting services including an append-only hash-chained compliance audit ledger, an AI-assisted SOP generation service, and licensing and subscription billing using Stripe as the pricing source of truth, so price changes require no code deployment.

Full Stack EngineerThe Main Branch · Woodinville, WA

React and Node.js applications for enterprise drones-as-a-service and applied AI platforms.

  • Built the interfaces letting operators run nationwide remote inspections without traveling to the asset, including utility pole and power line defect inspection that dispatches a repair crew from the captured findings.
  • Built interfaces for applied computer vision products, including livestock herd tracking and identification for agricultural customers.
  • Supported 200+ operators nationwide across fleets ranging from small in-house teams to contract pilots, with licensing and certification records tracked in-platform as a condition of fleet access.

Systems Analyst II, then BI DeveloperHorizon Bank · Michigan City, IN

Built the internal software behind bank operations, then moved into the business intelligence group.

  • Built the bank CRM suite from the ground up in C#, .NET Core, and Entity Framework Core over Microsoft SQL Server; it remains in production use today.
  • Developed the internal help desk platform from scratch, replacing manual request handling for bank staff.
  • Owned data center failover systems, maintaining continuity of core banking services across sites.
  • Moved from IT systems analysis into business intelligence in 2021 to lead reporting development and finish the CRM buildout.

Support Technician, then Systems AdministratorFour Winds Casinos · New Buffalo, MI

Administered roughly 200 systems across four casino properties, promoted from support technician within months of hire.

  • Owned physical and electronic security systems: door access control, key management, disaster recovery for security operations, and hotel systems at the primary property.
  • Administered Oracle databases supporting hotel operations and PostgreSQL across the environment, writing queries and reports for operational staff.
  • Migrated Active Directory infrastructure to Azure AD and Azure services, and wrote C# watchdog and monitoring scripts across the server estate to surface failures before they reached guests or operations.

CNC Programmer (Contract)Guardian Couplings · Michigan City, IN

Networked a shop floor with no program storage, where every repeat part was being reprogrammed from scratch. Connected the machines, versioned proven programs as they were written, and documented setups so a returning part became a load-and-run job instead of a reprogramming job.

Automation SpecialistTask Force Tips · Valparaiso, IN

CNC production programming and robotic cell integration across a multi-platform machine shop.

  • Integrated Universal Robots collaborative arms for machine loading and unloading across production lines.
  • Co-developed a fully automated two-machine cell in which the machines communicate directly: blanks enter the first machine, its robot hands the part to the second machine’s robot for second-side operations, and a finished part exits untouched by an operator.
  • Programmed and ran CNC production across Mori Seiki, Mazak, and Index platforms; among the first programmers in the Western Hemisphere to program the Index R300 multi-spindle machine.
